Piedras Negras, Mexico

A map of Mexico...
Eagle Pass in relation to Mexico

I went to Mexico a couple of weeks ago to take pictures in this park just across the border. It is a beautiful park filled with sculptures, statues, and huge paintings depicting ancient legends and stories. So, I thought I would post them to share. I love exploring Mexico, and have gotten a little braver as time goes by. I still don't go alone, but I've mastered driving, shopping, and am even able to order off the menu in Spanish now!

"It's Raining Mud"

So, the weirdest thing happened in San Antonio on Tuesday. It rained mud! No lie. Well, I guess it may have been some kind of pollen in a cloud, but check out the photos I took on Wednesday. Everyone's cars were COVERED like they had been mudding! I have never seen anything like it. Anyone understand such a phenomenon?

Olive Garden

Seafood Alfredo: Mmmm: $13.95 on Mastercard
Beringer Cabernet: $6.95 on Mastercard (x2) Salad: Free w/Entree: $0 on Mastercard
Breadsticks w/alfredo dipping sauce: $2.95 on Mastercard
Seeing this happy face after eating at Olive Garden: PRICELESS!!!!

You really are unaware of the things you take for granted, until you don't get to have them every day. I know, I just stated the obvious, but I did so for a reason. It actually hits home now. I'm living in a city (Yes, it IS a city) where there is no Starbucks (or ANY coffee shop for that matter) (it should be a law- A Starbucks in EVERY city), No Olive Garden (or ANY Italian eatery for that matter, unless you count my kitchen!), no Old Navy, GAP, Victoria Secret, Banana Republic, J Crew (Thankfully we have NY&Co so I can at least have work clothes!), and no all night pharmacy (that didn't matter til I needed one last night). So, after I went to the doctor, rummaged through Old Navy, and indulged in my Grande Caramel Frapp, I headed straight to Olive Garden for dinner. Here are the pics to prove it... simple pleasures...

Sunset

On Tuesday night, this beautiful sunset graced me as I drove home from work, down my dirt road... What a masterpiece. Thanks God, I needed that!

I'm Exhausted!!

So, I'm obviously am not very good at keeping up on this. It's already Thursday! What a whirlwind of a week! I am still in my office, catching up on paperwork (from another clinic where I was doing evals all morning), not to mention my own paperwork from my clinic this afternoon! My coffee is STILL sitting here! - very COLD. Ahhh! I'm so glad I have tomorrow off. I am so tired of driving and paperwork! So, I went to the pulmonologist yesterday afternoon after 3 months of coughing, wheezing, and I won't go it to any more detail as I'm sure that is enough already! I had to drive 2 1/2 hours to San Antonio, but I guess it's a good thing I did. One hour, six perscriptions and a nebulizer later, I left. So, apparently I developed asthma, have allergies (Thanks Texas cedar count), GERD (where'd that come from???), sinus congestion, and an upper respiratory oger hiding out for the long haul. So, after my first dose of Advair, I'm hooked! I can breathe without a train whistle coming out of my lungs! Thank the Lord! Well, I will post some cool pics later, but gotta get this paperwork done, lock up the office, and get my keester home! Gotta feed Sebastian and Ariel before they meow to death! (Notice I didn't say "starve" to death) They are the hugest cats known to domestication! (Is that a word??) -K

For Gabe!

You and me sweetie! I miss you!
I hear you're getting so big! I will see for myself when I get home in two weeks!
Here's your Auntie Ki-Ki at her Christmas party!
Smile! Your Auntie Ki-Ki loves you Gabe!
This is my bestest Texas friend, Lupe and me! You will meet her someday!

San Antonio Spurs Game NIght!

At Olive Garden with my tech Rosanna and her family before the big game!

The Spurs won! Yeah!!! We had fun! Sorry New Orleans. We kicked your keester!

Miserable Mondays

I'm sitting at my laptop at work and should be typing up the evaluation I just did on a patient, but instead, it seemed like more fun to write a blog! I really dislike Mondays. For some reason, my patients seem to try and make them even worse! (not all of them- only a select few, but that's all it takes). Anyway, I am looking forward to changing out of my green St. Patty's Day outfit and hitting the gym for a workout that will wipe it all away. Then make some dinner (Hmmm, Lean Cuisine or leftovers...), then it's whatever I feel like doing until bed! It's so nice to be me... I'll post some more cool pics later if ya'll are lucky! :)

Rio Grande at sunset

This past Friday, I went to the river at sunset. It is so nice to walk through my backyard, across the pecan orchard I live in, and be able to watch such a beautiful sunset over the Rio Grande. Hard to believe I actually live here!

Starting on a Sunday!

So, I guess Sunday is a good day to start blogging, right? This is all new to me, but I'm up for the challenge. I have truly enjoyed reading posts on other's blogs, so maybe people will enjoy reading mine! I can't post any cute baby pics, cause I don't have babies, but I have 2 cute kitties! This weekend has been fun- I experienced my first Eagle Pass parade. I think it was called the "Friendship Parade". Both Mexico and Texas were represented and it was 3 HOURS LONG!!! After this white girl was in the 95 degree sun for that long, I have been transformed into a lobster- Oh how I hurt! Anyway, I caught some cool pics of the parade that I am going to attempt to post.
